Part of Rand's work for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on problems arising in the propagation of radiation through planetary atmospheres. This Memorandum treats of the transfer of radiation with a general anisotropic scattering function in a plane-parallel atmosphere in which nonhomogeneities are allowed only in the direction normal to the plane stratification.
