Width sequences for special classes of (0,1)-matrices.

A continued study of a number of combinatorial problems which can be formulated in terms of matrices made up of columns of zeros and ones. This memorandum emphasizes certain classes of incidence matrices that have special combinatorial significance for applications. Several theorems are proved concerning the width sequence for a matrix in a particular class. Insofar as possible, these results are used to obtain information concerning the maximal width sequence for the class.
