Determining Economic Quantities of Maintenance Resources: A Minuteman Application.

Presentation of a method for determining economically desirable levels of maintenance resources, including equipment and personnel, with specific application to the Minuteman weapon system. The method represents an improvement over present practices in that the randomness of the failure pattern of the basic weapon, work shift policies, and cost-effectiveness considerations are introduced. To illustrate the technique, a set of curves specifically tailored to the Minuteman ICBM is provided.
