Antenna Pattern Distributions from Random Arrays.

Results of a theoretical study of the electrical characteristics of certain types of transmitting antennas. Specifically, the Memorandum deals with the determination of the antenna pattern distribution of a synthetic aperture antenna formed by a moving space vehicle emitting pulses randomly in time. The work produces a mathematical method for determining the field and gives examples. The approach developed is easy to apply for a number of interesting array distributions, and can also be used in tracking studies of fading distributed targets and in chaff and meteor trail diagnostics. 43 pp
