A demonstration of the use of the Monte Carlo method for the solution of complicated problems involving nuclear radiation. This method has been used chiefly when solution by other means was prohibitively complicated. This Memorandum gives the solution to two problems involving the transport of gamma rays in the upper atmosphere, and is one of a continuing series. It should be particularly useful as a guide for the users of the Rand Monte Carlo Gamma Ray Transport Code
