An examination of the problem of observation and accurate prediction of the in-plane motion of an SLBM during the boost-phase portion of its trajectory. Observations of the trajectory of an SLBM can be used to estimate parameters of its trajectory and to predict its future positions. An analysis is given of the prediction accuracy that results when different degrees of knowledge about the boost trajectory are assumed.
