A General Viewpoint on Shift-Register Sequences.

I. S. Reed

ResearchPublished 1963

A review of shift-register generators, applied both to the so-called "linear" binary sequence generators and to the nonlinear sequence generators. The Memorandum examines the theory of the design of shift-register counters, concentrating on the synthesis of counters able to create extremely long sequences by sequentially modifying the effective connections or "operators" in the feedback loops. 28 pp
