An outline of the technique of invariant imbedding. Its application to some problems of current interest in adaptive control theory is described. Once the invariant imbedding equations are solved, possibly numerically, sensitivity analysis is greatly aided. This point of view for sensitivity analysis is a radical departure from the usual perturbation method. 22 pp. Bibliog.
