Presentation of a model for predicting the turning trajectories of hypersonic reentry gliders by hand-calculating methods. Vehicle control is assumed to be exercised by variations in the angle of attack and the bank angle. In this study, the control variables are held constant for each trajectory and the effects of various lift-to-drag ratios and bank angles are calculated. The hand calculations are compared with the results of an earlier study of minimum energy hypersonic turns. (See also RM-3231, RM-4391.)
