Foundations of nonlinear programming : notes on linear programming and extensions--part 65

Philip S. Wolfe

ResearchPublished 1965

The Memorandum develops and uses some of the mathematical tools required for nonlinear programming. Special emphasis is placed on the notion of the gradient and convexity, the maximization of nonlinear functions without constraints, and some properties of linear programming approximations to nonlinear problems. These tools are also used to describe some nonlinear programming algorithms. 84 pp. Bibliog.
