A computing program for tracking error analysis of Keplerian trajectories

A presentation of the general approach, along with specific algorithms, for determining the accuracy in estimating position and velocity of a vehicle in near-Keplerian motion. In addition, the accuracy with which two coordinates of the tracking stations may be estimated is also determined. The information from a tracking network that represents an overdetermination of trajectory parameters is assumed to be combined in a general least-squares sense. The results appear as covariance matrices, confidence regions, and standard deviations. Specific features of the routine are the computation of all partial derivatives from analytic formulas and the provision for possible tracking station motion limited to great-circle paths. 53 pp.
