A discussion of a projected "deep index" to the extant leterature on Russian derivational morphology. The Memorandum describes the type of literature being abstracted, the classification of information into discrete categories for retrieval, the steps taken to prepare data for conversion to machine format, and the transliteration and abbreviation conventions used in the index. An example of Russian sscholarly text is appended, together with the format in hwich this text appears after processing.
