The Ecology of AI Risk
Building on the idea of studying AI using ecological and evolutionary perspectives, we propose a novel approach for assessing risk from AI using indicators derived from theoretical ecology models.
Mathematician
Alvin Moon is a mathematician at RAND. His current research applies mathematical analysis to problems involving artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, cybersecurity, supply chains, and workforce development.
Prior to joining RAND, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory, University of Copenhagen. He is a member of the International Association of Mathematical Physics and the American Mathematical Society.
Moon holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
