Addressing Opioid Use Disorder in Older Adults
Congressional Briefing in Collaboration with the Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery Caucus
Past event
Opioid use disorder (OUD) prevalence has increased threefold among Medicare beneficiaries 65 years and older since 2013. Addressing OUD in this population presents unique clinical challenges, and many individuals do not receive the treatment that they need.
Please join us for a briefing and discussion with researchers from RAND’s Opioid Policy, Tools, and Information Center. Panelists will examine the current data on OUD in Medicare, including findings on access to medications for OUD in older adults. The briefing will also explore how a collaborative care infrastructure can be utilized to manage the complex needs of older adults with OUD.
