Given the significance of Russian civil, commercial and security activity in space since the launch of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it is important to consider how Russia will adapt its space strategy for the future. To properly address this question, we set the context by briefly reviewing Russian space policy and performance from the early 2000s to 2021 and then comparing it to more recent Russian space activities. Based on this review we identify likely Russian approaches to space activity in the future and offer recommendations for how others should prepare for Russian approaches.
