A compilation of tabular data on Soviet electric power, coal, oil shale and peat, and employment and assets in energy branches. These data, collected by the author in his research on Soviet energy policy and energy research and development, have been interpreted and made as consistent as possible. Each table is accompanied by detailed notes and sources. Data for the oil and gas industry have been presented in other publications and are not included in this Note.
This publication is part of the RAND note series. The note was a product of RAND from 1979 to 1993 that reported miscellaneous outputs of sponsored research for general distribution.
