A discussion of methods of estimating unknown parameters in the presence of noise. The author indicates the similarities between problems of control and problems of prediction. It is proposed that the techniques described be applied to determine the trajectory of a 24-hour satellite in a circular orbit. This work should be applicable to problems of orbit estimation where the parameters are not known.
