A Theorem of Fritz John in Mathematical Programming

A specialization of a theorem of Fritz John to the case of mathematical programming. It is shown that when a certain multiplier is positive, the well-known Kuhn-Tucker conditions obtain. A sufficient condition for the positivity of this multiplier is proposed.
