Army Local Economic Effects

The Army's Local Economic Effects (RAND Corporation, RR-1119, 2015) presents findings on the economic activity supported by total U.S. Army spending in each of the 435 congressional districts for fiscal years 2012–2014. Researchers used input/output models to estimate direct, indirect, and induced effects of national-level Army spending for each congressional district.

This dashboard represents a view of the reports findings broken down by congressional district, as well as aggregated by state. The economic activity associated with this spending is separated by Army component where applicable. The data supporting the dashboard are also available as a series of appendices to the original report.
