Alyson B. Harding

Associate Policy Researcher

Alyson Harding is an associate policy researcher at RAND. With a background in epidemiology and public health, her work broadly examines the environmental impacts health. Her research interests include disasters and climate change, occupational safety and health, transportation, housing and the built environment, and injury and violence prevention.

She has worked on interdisciplinary projects related to walkability and the built environment, mental health of firefighters, impacts of climate change, community interventions to address adverse childhood experiences, and firearm violence. Her dissertation work focused on California wildfires and the health impacts of public safety power shutoffs. While at RAND, she has worked across divisions on projects quantifying costs of harmful behaviors in the Army, managing a scoping review for the World Trade Center Health Program, examining health and health care in Puerto Rico, and assessing disaster impacts among older adults in the U.S. Gulf Coast.
