Benjamin Salvo

Benjamin Salvo is an M.Phil. student at the RAND School of Public Policy and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. His research interests include education policy, labor economics and child well-being, with a particular focus on underserved populations and rural communities.

Prior to joining RAND, he spent eight years working in the social sector in Chile. He led teams developing workforce opportunities and economically sustainable projects in rural communities, managed several quasi-experimental impact evaluations across fields such as education and mental health, and served as head of training and consulting at a leading Chilean NGO. In that role, he oversaw the design and delivery of consulting projects and training programs focused on NGO management.

Salvo holds a B.S. in industrial engineering with a concentration in transportation engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a Micromasters certificate in data, economics and design of policy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
