The Appalachia Partnership Initiative is guided by recent research that emphasizes the need to prepare the region's future workforce to support the growing energy and advanced manufacturing industries. This research informed the API's mission to increase access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, workforce training, and career awareness.
