In addressing the main topic — NATO's military strategy for the post–Cold War era — this study examined the political, military, and economic issues that will confront NATO. Additionally, it identified and analyzed a spectrum of options that are available to NATO depending upon how it assesses its future military and security requirements in Europe and peripheral areas.
