Skye A. Miner is a behavioral and social scientist at RAND. She specializes in using mixed-methods to gather interest holder perspectives on emerging technologies. She is especially interested in using qualitative and survey methods to gather patient-centered outcomes. For example, she has led efforts that have examined the psychosocial needs of fertility patients and pregnant women's experiences of being diagnosed with cancer after a genetic test. She is also interested in how emerging technologies impact the health care workforce. She has published work on the impacts of specialized training programs for health care workers and the potential impact of AI on the healthcare workforce.
Before coming to RAND, she was an assistant professor and a clinical ethicist (HEC-C certified) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She received her Ph.D. from McGill University and completed a fellowship in bioethics at the National Institutes of Health.
