This policy memo presents an overview of the childcare gap in EU Member States. The childcare gap is a period in which families with young children are unable to benefit from well-compensated childcare leave or a guaranteed place in early childhood education and care. The memo was written for the European Platform for Investing in Children (EPIC) project and examines policies in place to address the childcare gap.
