Lessons Learned from Co-Producing Climate Tools for the Mid-Atlantic

This working paper presents insights from developing 30 tools under the Mid-Atlantic Climate Adaptation Partnership (MARISA) during an eight-year effort. The authors propose six best practices for user-centered design, including addressing data gaps, real-world integration, and iterative development. Their goal is to guide efforts at the science-policy interface and support a community of practice to translate climate data into actionable policy.
