Public Trust in Science: Overview Findings on Trust and Scientific Trustworthiness
This document presents an overview and synthesis of findings from RAND Europe's research for Wellcome on public trust in science and scientific trustworthiness.
Manpreet Bhangal is a research assistant at RAND Europe in the Science and Emerging Technology team. She has a particular interest in biomaterials and biotechnologies for healthcare as well as climate/environment applications. She also has an interest in different science communication methods, and data analysis/visualisation.
She has previous experience working as a project research officer for the Government Office for Science, where she led the organisation of roundtables to answer science research questions based on a range of complex, high-profile topics, and wrote/published the subsequent evidence notes. She also worked on various projects based on Net Zero, including the published UK Government Net Zero Technology Outlook, as well as researching the applications of engineering biology for Net Zero.
She has an M.Sc. in microbiology and immunology from the University of Nottingham, and a B.Med.Sc. in biomedical materials science from the University of Birmingham. She has also been a healthcare article writer, a first aider and youth helper with St. John Ambulance and an online biology/maths tutor for a range of students.
