Public Trust in Science: Landscape Mapping
This report presents a review of recent evidence on public trust in science across Europe, the United States and Canada.
Manuel Hernandez Gonzalez is an analyst at RAND Europe within the Research and Innovation Ecosystems workstream of the Science and Emerging Technology team. His research interests include the role of governments and universities in research and innovation ecosystems; higher education policy; democratic institutions; and public engagement with research.
Prior to joining RAND Europe, Hernandez Gonzalez worked as a policy advisor and senior policy advisor within the central administration of the Universidad de Guadalajara in Mexico. He also completed a placement at the Institute for Policy and Engagement at the University of Nottingham, supporting the planning and delivery of a public engagement training programme for mid-career and established researchers. More recently, he volunteered for two years as a committee member of the Early Career Network of the Political Studies Association in the UK, first as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, and then as Communications Officer. From this organisation, he collaborated with initiatives and events to support needs, interests and development opportunities for early career academics.
Hernandez Gonzalez holds a Ph.D. in politics from the University of Nottingham.
