Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Director of On-the-Job Training, and Professor of Policy Analysis, RAND School of Public Policy; Senior Economist
Jeanne S. Ringel is a senior economist at RAND. She is also the interim associate dean for academic affairs and a professor of policy analysis at the RAND School of Public Policy, as well as director of the school's On-the-Job Training program.
Ringel has extensive experience building and managing RAND’s research portfolios in the areas of public health preparedness, population health, and health care access and delivery. She is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods and has extensive experience engaging diverse stakeholders and supporting policy development, implementation, and evaluation. She has over 20 years of experience leading research teams on a range of public health and health care topics. Most recently she has worked on projects for CMS conducting supporting implementation of the prescription drug provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act. Prior work has focused on health care access and delivery, including a project assessing the methods for measuring timely access to care in California. Additional projects focused specifically on veterans, assessing health and well-being needs of veterans in New York, assessing VA capabilities to provide timely, high-quality care, and modeling differences in treatment costs between the VA's regional networks to inform VA's budget allocation methods. Ringel also completed a series of projects on COVID-19 vaccination. This work built on Ringel's portfolio of vaccination policy work where she has supported the HHS in developing strategic plans for improving vaccine and immunization enterprise.
Ringel earned her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
