The midstream stages of manufacturing supply chains transform semi-processed materials into components and sub-assemblies before these are used to assemble final products. These stages can generate a variety of residues which often contain critical minerals that might be able to be recovered. The UK and EU share many interlinkages across the midstream stages throughout their aerospace and defence sectors. This report is a concise review of the policy, regulatory and economic landscape for the EU-UK midstream areas in the aerospace and defence sectors.
