Over the past year, the Justice for All series, hosted by the Sheriff of the City of London, has brought together senior leaders from government, business, academia, law enforcement and the justice sector. Framed around Magna Carta and the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal 16, the series sought to shed light on what a just society requires from us all, and what will it cost us if we do not deliver it.
Each event in the series focused on a specific aspect of the justice system and was accompanied by a research briefing paper exploring the evidence on the matters under consideration. The five papers traced a single argument, across different settings, that the effective delivery of justice makes economic as well as moral sense. This paper draws together the findings of that series, reflecting on the contribution of each briefing and the key themes that emerge across them.
