This technical report provides detailed information about the sample, survey instruments, and resultant data for the 2023 American Instructional Resources Surveys (AIRS) that were administered to principals and teachers in spring 2023 via the RAND Corporation's American Educator Panels (AEP).
The 2023 AIRS focused on the usage of, perceptions of, and supports for instructional materials used in English language arts, mathematics, and science kindergarten through grade 12 classrooms across the United States. The results are intended to inform policy and education practice related to the use of instructional resources.
The research described in this report was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, and the Walton Family Foundation and conducted by RAND Education and Labor.
