Paul Cormarie (pronounced: Kor-Mary) is a policy analyst at RAND. His research interests include NATO, the European Union, and transatlantic relations; force planning and deterrence; and security cooperation. In addition to his work at RAND, he was a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Modern War Institute at West Point (MWI) and a contributing editor to the Irregular Warfare Initiative (IWI). Cormarie was also a Nuclear Scholar at CSIS, where he conducted research on French nuclear deterrence strategy.

Previously, Cormarie was a researcher at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where he researched and wrote reports on the Alliance and its role in the Indo-Pacific, in climate security, and in other topics related to European security. Additionally, he was an assistant to the Emeritus Chair in Strategy, Dr. Anthony Cordesman of CSIS, where he supported his work on issues related to force planning, defense modernization, and European security. Cormarie began his career doing internships at the EU Delegation to the United States, the Atlantic Council, the UK Department for International Trade, and the United Nations Secretariat. He is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he received a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS).
