Regional Maps of the Appalachia Partnership Initiative Region

The Appalachia Partnership Initiative (API) addresses STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) K-12 education and workforce development needs in the Greater Pittsburgh area's advanced manufacturing and energy sectors. The RAND Corporation serves as the independent evaluation and monitoring lead for the API, conducting research that informs the API's mission to increase access to STEM education, workforce training, and career awareness. This tool was developed by Informatics Studios based on data provided to RAND from programs funded by the API. The tool highlights the geographic reach of API programs and allows users to drill down and see specific information about each funded program. The tool will be updated annually.
