This report documents the approach, data, and assumptions used to produce an online tool that allows state decisionmakers to assess the costs and effectiveness of implementing up to 14 interventions and to select those most effective in reducing deaths and injuries from motor vehicle crashes for a given implementation budget. It also provides examples of how costs and benefits were identified for certain interventions, as well as instructions about using the tool in various modes of analysis. The tool was developed for and is hosted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
