Overview

David Schulker is an associate policy researcher at the RAND Corporation. His research uses econometric and statistical techniques to analyze defense recruiting and career progression, with some additional work on topics involving education, military spouses and veterans. Some examples of Schulker's recent work include an analysis of demographic differences in Air Force pilot training attrition, an examination of the predictors of training attrition for Air Force Special Operations and Combat Support career fields, and the use of optimization techniques to plan for the future of Air Force rated career fields. Schulker is also a former Air Force intelligence officer with over 800 hours of experience leading a crew conducting near-real-time ISR in support to multiple major combat operations. He received his Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School.
